JEWELRY SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST: ANAMMA SCHOOL

Celebrating its 10th anniversary and aspiring to contribute to the progress of contemporary jewelry in Greece and support in practice young people who love the art of jewelry, ANAMMA school announces two annual scholarships for the design & making of jewelry, along with professional orientation, for two individuals. The purpose of the programme is to offer the first year of studies for free to a beginner and to an advanced student, who want to get acquainted with contemporary jewelry making.

Applications for participation in the contest are accepted until Sunday September, 5 2021 at 23:59.

1] SCHOLARSHIPS

SCHOLARSHIP LEVEL #1: GET ACQUAINTED WITH JEWELRY
SCHOLARSHIP LEVEL #1 will be attributed to an individual who wants to get acquainted with the basic principles of jewelry and techniques of silversmithing, as well as with contemporary jewelry making. The scholarship holder will have the chance to attend three different courses per week – 320 hours in total for academic year 2021-2022.

The weekly courses are those of Handmade Jewelry, Castinng Jewelry and Contemporary Jewelry, instructed by Angelica Komis, Dimitris Nikolaidis and Anastasia Kandaraki respectively.

At the same time, the scholarship holder will have the opportunity to use the infrastructure of the Studio – when not attending class – in order to be able to practice on a daily basis. During the year, he/she will be called to present his/her work twice to the team of ANAMMA.

SCHOLARSHIP LEVEL #2: EVOLVE JEWELRY
SCHOLARSHIP LEVEL #2 will be attributed to an individual who is familiar with the basic silversmithing techniques and wants to expand his/her knowledge, as well as get acquainted with contemporary jewelry making. The scholarship holder will have the chance to attend three different courses per week – 304 hours in total for academic year 2021-2022.

The weekly courses are those of From Flat Surface to Three-dimensional Space, Metal Sculpting and Repoussé and Contemporary Jewelry, instructed by Akis Goumas, Dimitris Nikolaidis and Anastasia Kandaraki respectively.

At the same time, the scholarship holder will have the opportunity to use the infrastructure of the Studio – when not attending class – in order to be able to practice on a daily basis. During the year, he/she will be called to present his/her work twice to the team of ANAMMA.

2] RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE

All individuals, including unemployed persons, residing in Greece and aged between 18 and 30 years old have the right to participate in the contest.

3] SCHOLARSHIP DURATION

The scholarships cover the full tuition fees for academic year 2021-2022 and their granting lies at the discretion of a four-member committee from ANAMMA. The scholarship applies strictly to attendance of studies from the beginning of the academic year 2021-2022 in October and throughout June.

4] SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

The contenders must deliver via email at info@anamma.gr a file with the following obligatory material:
1. Application with all data necessary – SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION YEAR 2021-2022_ANAMMA STUDIO (download and fill in the application)
2. CV note
3. Portfolio with projects proving their ability to participate in the programme, such as designs and photos of jewelry and creations they have completed.
4. A passage of 200 words explaining the reasons of their interest in the scholarship.

Applications for participation in the contest are accepted until Sunday September, 5 2021 at 23:59.

5] TWO-PHASE SELECTION PROCEDURE

a) During the first phase, the committee, comprising the instructors of ANAMMA Studio, will select at its sole discretion the candidates that can participate in the following phase. The committee will take into consideration the information submitted via the electronic applications.

b) In the second phase, the candidates selected will be called for a personal interview either in the Studio or via teleconference (Zoom). The two winners will be selected by the committee at its sole discretion.

6] ANNOUNCEMENT OF SCHOLARSHIPS

The announcement of the winners will be realized on September, 20 2021 via a public announcement by the Studio and via a personal e-mail.

7] The scholarships cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be given away as a gift. They are granted exclusively to the individuals selected.

8] The scholarships may be postponed or/and canceled for reasons of force majeure (indicatively due to natural disasters, strikes, war, terrorist acts etc.), cannot fulfil their obligations accruing from the present and are exempted without any penalty from the obligations of ANAMMA Studio.
