3-day seminar with Ioanna Natsikou

Duration: 15 hours
An unfamiliar material, a distinct process, a different rhythm-motion can lead every time to something new.
In this seminar, we will come face to face with this challenge by working with several materials that might have never occurred to us as options. There will be a lot of experimentation, while imagination will be the necessary element. The result will serve as the starting point for a new approach on the discovery of materials and the opportunities they might offer.
The point is to set our mind free from any conventions and make the most out of our spontaneity in order to be able to perceive “out of the box” all the new creative prospects that will be opening up.
Each participant should bring along some cheap material in abundance.

She has studied Interior Design (1993-1995, Rome) and History of Art (1995-1997, Institut Français de Grèce, Athens).
From 2000 to 2012, she had been running her own business of making and selling hand-made objects.
In 2010, she decided to engage in jewelry by studying primarily at Mokume Silversmithing and Jewelry Design School in Athens and then at Alchimia Contemporary Jewelry School in Florence with Professor Ruudt Peters.
She has attended the following seminars:

She has participated in the following group exhibitions:

She was also selected among the Alchimia graduates (2013) to participate in the yearly graduation show at Gallery Marzee / Holland.
Since 2013, her academic advisor is Professor Ruudt Peters.
Today she lives in Athens and works on contemporary jewelry.
Ένα πειραματικό σεμινάριο γεμάτο ανακαλύψεις και αλχημείες υλικών. Τα υλικά μας, γνωστά και καθημερινά. Μέσα απο το παιχνίδι και τον πειραματισμό προσπαθήσαμε να ανακαλύψουμε τι ποιότητες μπορεί να μας δώσει το κάθε υλικό. Ο στόχος ήταν να το μεταμορφώσουμε, να χάσει την αρχική του εικόνα, να σκεφτούμε έξω απο το ” κουτί ” μας και να δημιουργήσουμε ένα κέλυφος όπου αυτό θα κρύβει το κάθε ίχνος της διαδικασίας μας. Ευχαριστούμε την Ιωάννα Νατσίκου που μοιράστηκε μαζί μας τις γνώσεις της αλλά και όλους όσους συμμετείχαν σε κάτι τόσο τολμηρό και είχαν το θάρρος να ” σκεφτούν έξω απο το κουτί τους” !!!!!
