Jewelry & Ceramic
3-day workshop with Dimitris Nikolaidis
March 19-20 & April 3, 2022
Duration: 16 hours
Technically and historically speaking, clay is the material with the highest plasticity and shaping ability that Man has ever had the chance to handle. Clay has a distinct course in the design of “closed” shapes and small items to display, spanning over 7,000 years, that cannot be compared to anything else in the history of civilization.
In this workshop, we will create solid or hollow jewelry/micro-sculptures made of clay and porcelain and paint them with clay inlays of various colours, glaze stains and coatings (engobes). Finally, we will study their combination with metals in order to complete our jewelry.
