–Granulation–
3-day workshop with Paraskevi Kokolaki
December, 20-22 2017
Duration: 12 hours
The technique of granulation goes back in time and particularly from the 8th to the 2nd century BC when it was invented by Greeks and Etruscans. Small grains of pure silver are set with the technique of soldering to create decorative textures and patterns on flat, as well as on curved metal surfaces. Granulation is used in silversmithing for decorative purposes, while it is one of the techniques that are slowly fading.
Basic knowledge on silversmithing is a prerequisite.
Participants undertake the cost of materials.
