FOUND OBJECTS – From everyday object to wearable artwork I 2-day workshop with Iris Tsante I April, 25 & 26 2026

FOUND OBJECTS
From everyday workshop to wearable artwork

2-day workshop with Iris Tsante
April, 25 & 26 2026
Duration: 14 hours

Artwork by Iris Tsante

The two day workshop Found Objects by Iris Tsante invites participants to enter the fascinating world of objects we “find” or choose, and discover how these can be transformed into wearable works of art. Through a blend of theoretical insight, practice and creative experimentation, the workshop looks into the possibilities of contemporary art jewelry, drawing inspiration from artists in both contemporary art and conceptual jewelry.

The program includes an introduction to the philosophy of found objects and their relationship to contemporary artistic practices, as well as presentations of influential artists who have redefined jewelry and expanded the boundaries of modern art. Participants will learn practical techniques to transform objects and re contextualize them and will get involved with creative exercises designed to support the development of their own artistic language.

This workshop is ideal for those who wish to explore new approaches in contemporary jewelry, experiment with materials and discover the transformative power of the everyday object.

Iris Tsante is an art jewelry designer based in Athens. She studied traditional jewelry techniques in Athens and later obtained her BA in jewelry design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, under the guidance of Iris Eichenberg, Manon van Kouswijk and others. She has presented her work in international exhibitions across Europe and the United States. In 2026 she was selected for “Schmuck 2026” in Munich. Her pieces are included in museum collections such as LACMA and the Grassi Museum. She has collaborated with Galerie Ra in Amsterdam and in recent years has been represented in the United States by Charon Kransen. She was also co founder of the B Side Festival in Amsterdam in 2011 and 2012.

For Iris, jewelry is a way to explore beauty and value through memories and human relationships. Her works combine simplicity, joy and innocence with elements of fragility and playfulness, often commenting on the “serious” symbols of Western dress codes.
