ELECTROFORMING
2-day workshop with Gaston Rois
November, 28 & 29 2026
Duration: 16 hours

Electroforming is a technique that involves depositing a layer of metal onto the surface of different objects and materials, creating partial or complete metallic coatings. It allows the creation of three-dimensional, hollow and lightweight forms that are difficult to achieve through other jewellery-making techniques.
Applied to jewellery, Electroforming opens up a wide range of creative possibilities, encouraging experimentation with different materials, shapes and forms.
During the course, participants will be introduced to the basic principles of Electroforming and learn how to properly prepare and develop their pieces in order to achieve a high-quality result. They will learn how to set up and use a basic Electroforming kit for jewellery making and understand the different stages of the process through a clear, step-by-step approach. Participants will create several jewellery pieces using different materials, exploring the various forms and possibilities offered by the technique. They will also be introduced to different finishing techniques to complete and enhance their pieces.
The workshop will include an introduction to electrolytic engraving, offering an additional creative method for adding detail and character to jewellery.
The course is open to anyone with an artistic and creative interest who would like to experiment with new materials and techniques. No previous experience with Electroforming is required.
All necessary materials for the seminar are provided.
