Deconstruct > Reconstruct
3day workshop with Burcu Buyukunal & Selen Ozus
20, 21, & 22nd of June 2014
Duration: 12 hours
In this workshop we will be giving a second look at an ordinary object. We will take an object and deconstruct it by various ways depending on the nature of the object: sawing, breaking, hammering’ tearing…etc and reconstruct it into a jewelry piece. We will make experimentations with the forms while taking apart and rejoining. We will seek for creative solutions to reconstruct the piece and re-contextualize it on body.
This workshop is a conceptual one and basic jewelry making skills are required. We will introduce some connection solutions during the workshop. The object and brass in sheet and wire format will be provided as well as some joining materials. You are welcomed if you like to bring some other materials of yours.
