An introductory two-day workshop dedicated to the art of stone setting, focusing specifically on the placement and securing of faceted semi-precious stones onto a metal surface.

Participants will also learn how to set stones using a tube setting, expanding the versatility and range of applications of the technique.
Through hands-on, step-by-step training, participants will become familiar with the process and make their own steel gravers, essential tools for this type of work.
The course is aimed at participants with basic knowledge of silversmithing and goldsmithing and combines theory, technical instruction, and practical training.

Aristeidis Kormpakis is a second-generation goldsmith and silversmith with 30 years of experience in jewellery design and craftsmanship.
He studied Gemmology at the Centre for Gemmology, Glyptography and Diamond Studies of the Hellenic Centre for Jewellery (ELKA), under the auspices of POVAKO, in Athens. He also specialised in diamonds through the renowned British institution GEM-A (The Gemmological Association of Great Britain).
Since 2000, he has co-managed a jewellery workshop with Ilias Vikatos. Since 2017, he has also been a co-founder and co-manager of 7epta, a creative space that brings together jewellery making and retail, alongside regular annual workshops dedicated to the teaching and transmission of the art of jewellery making.
