Mixed metal techniques
3-day workshop with Patrick Davison
November 15-17 2024
Duration: 15 hours
This course aims at introducing participants to the decorative technique of married metals. We will focus on mixed metal techniques using wire, sheet or tube from different metals and alloys as the starting point and combine metals in different ways in order to come up with a variety of decorative metal surfaces that will serve for the creation of our jewelry.
Participants will have the chance to experiment through these techniques and explore the design process, while experiencing the way that the materials used lend themselves to different designs. The ultimate goal is for participants to use these techniques in their own way in their future projects. A selection of creative outcomes by the participants will be used to create a final piece of jewelry.
